Highlights of Summer

The summer social highlight in Gray Head is undoubtably our annual HOA meeting and BBQ. It is traditionally held on July 3rd –  a kick off to Independence Day celebrations. If the main ingredients for a successful meeting & BBQ are great attendance, perfect weather and delicious food, then we nailed it!

Another summer highlight was the Balloon Festival in June. This event is never a guarantee… any wind or rain will shut it down. But conditions this year were tailor-made for both the morning fly over town and the evening glow on main street. Here’s a look if you missed it:

Summer monsoons are now in full swing… prime time for wildflowers and rainbows. Get out for a hike early and be back in town for the afternoon double rainbow display.   (click photos to enlarge)

Summer highlights still to come:

Lots of great music – Telluride Jazz Festival and Blues and Brews

And film – The next big social event in Gray Head is the Telluride Film Festival Patron’s Brunch. It will take place on Friday, September 1st. Details on times and tickets coming soon…

Every season in the San Juans has it’s highlights – hope you are all able to spend some time here enjoying the best summer has to offer.

Cheers.
