Gray Head Spring and Summer News
It Snowed and It Snowed and...
What a spectacular winter in the San Juan Mountains. The snow was so amazing that new owner Ian Sanders came for a week and stayed the whole season. He was bit by the infamous powder bug and transformed from an intermediate skier to chasing Mikey down gold hill double black runs.
Most old and new owners made it out for Christmas and the annual New Years Party. A great new adventure to the fun holiday activities is an extreme mile long luge run down Last Dollar Road. It is a helmeted activity and not for the faint at heart. Ralph Booth managed to be the shuttle driver as Bill Ford led the kids down the lugeand oops-why is he climbing out of a tree well back to the road?
The jury is out but we think Carl Ferenbach logged the most consecutive ski days this epic winter.
Mikey managed to keep the roads open with little delay. It wasn’t until the surprise 2 foot snow storm in late April that he finally got stuck!
Good bye Mud Season Hello Summer!
Roudy and the horses are back. The meadows are as green as they get and all the trails are open for multi-use.
Festival season is upon us-the Jazz Fest was full of sunshine and dancing feet. The Catsman’s made it in for the first two days but fell apart Sunday missing an all-star performance by the Neville brothers. Val and Stu Ross enjoyed the show with many of their nieces and nephews in tow. For a listing of all the summer festivals please look on our web page, grayheadowner.com.
Currently you can reserve tennis court time by emailing Lara or signing up at the cabin. Our web designer is in the process of creating a reservation system on the grayheadowner.com site. I will send an email when it is up and running.
